Our 14 Day Mpumalanga itinerary offers you time in Hazyview, the Kruger
National Park, the Sabie area and Pretoria.
Day 1 and 2
After your arrival in Johannesburg you will connect with
your flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) where
you will collect your hired car. Our itinerary will take you first
to Hazyview, in the heart of Mpumalanga’s mountain and valley
region. Unwind here for 2 nights and enjoy the local activities
like walking, horse riding, golf, fishing and ballooning. Overnight
in Hazyview.
Day 3, 4 and 5

Travel to South Africa’s premier park, the Kruger National Park, for 3 nights. Enjoy up to 6 safaris where you will see a huge variety of wildlife and birdlife, more than in any other sanctuary in Africa. You have the opportunity to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra as well as an abundance of antelope and other game. Overnight in the park.
Day 6, 7 and 8
Leave the Kruger Park and drive to one of the area’s private mountain retreats. Visit the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and the Swandini Reptile Park on the way. Take the panoramic drive to the Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world and one of the natural wonders of Africa. See how the rivers, flowing over many millions of years, have formed Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Visit the Shangana Cultural Village where you can watch traditional African dancing. Overnight in the retreat.
Day 9, 10 and 11
Drive to Sabie, renowned for its natural beauty, particularly
the abundance of waterfalls and breathtaking views up to the surrounding
Drakensberg Mountains. Visit the Staircase, the historic Long Tom
Pass with its spectacular views and the Devil’s Knuckles. View
the majestic mountain scenery from God’s Window and walk to the
rainforest at the top of the mountain. Be transported back to the
gold-rush era
at the living museum of Pilgrim’s Rest, an old mining town frozen
in time. Overnight in Sabie.
Day 12
Take a scenic drive to Pretoria via the Sudwala Caves and the Montrose Pass. Stop off in Dullstroom, the trout fishing capital of South Africa, and wonder at their pretty guesthouses, cool coffee shops and fantastic scenery. Overnight in Pretoria.
Day 13

In Pretoria, join a guided township tour of Soweto, Nelson Mandela’s home town and visit his old house or visit Gold Reef City, a replica of an early mining town where you can descend 220m into the old Crown Mine. Overnight in Pretoria.
Day 14
Spend your final day relaxing or shopping before driving to
Johannesburg airport for your evening flight home.
