Our 10 Day Mpumalanga itinerary offers you time in Hazyview, the Kruger National Park, the Sabie area and Pretoria.

Day 1 and 2

After your arrival in Johannesburg you will connect with your flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) where you will collect your hired car. Our itinerary will take you first to Hazyview, in the heart of Mpumalanga’s mountain and valley region. Unwind here and enjoy the local activities like walking, horse riding, golf, fishing and ballooning. Overnight in Hazyview.

Day 3, 4 and 5

You will travel to South Africa’s premier park, the Kruger National Park, for 3 nights. Enjoy up to 6 safaris where you will see a huge variety of wildlife and birdlife, more than in any other sanctuary in Africa. You have the opportunity to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra as well as an abundance of antelope and other game. Overnight in the park.

Day 6 and 7

You can make for the Sabie area, renowned for its natural beauty, particularly all the spectacular waterfalls and breathtaking views up to the surrounding Drakensberg Mountains. From here you can take the panoramic drive to the Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world and one of the natural wonders of Africa. Whilst you are hiking in these spectacular surroundings you can view the majestic mountain scenery from God’s Window. See how the rivers, flowing over many millions of years, have formed Bourke’s Luck Potholes. Be transported back to the gold-rush era at the living museum of Pilgrim’s Rest, an old mining town frozen in time. Overnight in the Sabie area.

Day 8

Take a scenic drive to Pretoria via the Sudwala Caves and theMontrose Pass. Stop off in Dullstroom, the trout fishing capital of South Africa, and wonder at their pretty guesthouses, cool coffee shops and fantastic scenery. Overnight in Pretoria.

Day 9

In Pretoria, take a city tour through the administrative capital of South Africa, also known as the Garden City or the Jakaranda City. Here you can see the Voortrekker Monument, the Union Building, and other interesting sites like Paul Kruger’s House or the Transvaal Museum. Alternatively, join a guided township tour of Soweto, Nelson Mandela’s home town and visit his old house or visit Gold Reef City, a replica of an early mining town where you can descend 220m into the old Crown Mine. Overnight in Pretoria.

Day 10

Spend your final day relaxing or shopping before driving to Johannesburg airport for your evening flight home.
