Mpumalanga is an all-year round destination, a hauntingly beautiful
landscape with breathtaking views. It has a rich and colourful history
with hunters, safari traders, Voortrekker settlers, prospectors
and numerous people who travelled here in search of fortune. Spectacular
gorges, isolated buttresses, unusual geological features, rolling
deep ravines and fairy-tale waterfalls are amongst some of the staggeringly
beautiful scenery that surrounds you.
There are adventure activities for everyone like walking, horse riding, mountain biking, boat cruises, river rafting and hot air ballooning. The area is particularly popular for fly fishing and there are a number of excellent golf courses, each with beautiful views.
The Kruger National Park, with its abundance of wildlife, is one
of the most famous national parks in the world. The park covers
a total surface area of 1,948,528 hectares or 7,523 square miles
and is more than a century old. See the Big 5 in this incredible park or in one of a number of private game parks nearby.
