7 Days - Cape Town & Surrounds - From £475

Our Cape Town and Surrounds Itinerary gives you 3 nights total in Cape Town, a stop-over in Stellenbosch and 2 nights in the whale-watching area of Hermanus.

Day 1 and 2

Wander around the city centre seeing such sights as Green Market Square, the Grand Parade, The Castle of Good Hope and the Company Gardens. Climb to the top of Table Mountain or, for the less adventurous, take the cable car and see the stunning views of the city. Take a boat trip to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela and others were incarcerated for many years during the apartheid era. Stroll around the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and sample the local seafood delicacies in one of the many riverfront restaurants.

After exploring the city centre, try one of the many beautiful beaches nearby. Wander around the quaint fishing villages of the Cape Peninsula and see the view from the most southerly aspect at Cape Point. Visit a local ostrich farm and learn about these strange birds. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 3

Our itinerary takes you to the Cape winelands region to sample world class wine amongst picture-postcard scenery. Leave the car behind and take a guided tour through the Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek reqion with our local wine specialists. Enjoy lunch whilst overlooking the region’s prettiest rolling countryside. Overnight in Stellenbosch.

Day 4 and 5

Drive to Hermanus to see the whales (in season) and enjoy this pretty coastal resort. Try a cliff-top walk around Walker Bay. Visit the small museum at the old harbour or soak up the atmosphere of the shops and restaurants at the new harbour. Try one of the many good walks in the area and view the prolific fynbos in the nearby nature reserve. You can even try shark cage diving nearby if you wish. Overnight in Hermanus.

Day 6

Spend some more time enjoying the ambience of Hermanus before leaving and making your way back to Cape Town. Maybe stop off at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a relaxing walk in these beautiful surroundings. Overnight in Cape Town.

Day 7

Make some last minute shopping purchases, relax or do some final sight-seeing before flying home. Alternatively drive one hour north of Cape Town and visit the West Coast Ostrich Ranch. Meet some rare albino ostriches but keep shiny jewellery and cameras out of their reach!
